For the past several years, the land of hope and incredible prosperity where supercar development takes place has been a wasteland. All of a sudden, six incredible performance beasts storm onto the scene, most notably halo offerings from Italian sportscar giants, Ferrari and Lamborghini. The Italians showcased the laFerrari and Veneno, successors to the Enzo and Murcielago, respectively. Other notables in the video include McLaren P1, Spyker B6 Venator, Porsche 911 GT3, and Koenigsegg Agera S Hundra.<\/p>\n

These large and boutique carmakers wouldn’t make the mega-investment in new products unless they are convinced that the market is strong enough that the uber-wealthy will pony up hundreds of thousands and even millions to park these amazing cars in their collections. More importantly, Ferrari and Lamborghini (along with parent companies FIAT and Volkswagen) must strong sales of their bread and butter sports cars to offset R&D losses these hyper performance halo cars often bring.<\/p>\n

We have to hope that if the wealthy are back in the toy market, this loosening of the purse strings will translate into a trickle down that continues to drive the comeback of the auto industry overall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
